Hotel Raquel Stained Glass Atrium Havana Colour Architectural Photography
A Golden Vault Above Symmetrical Green Balcony Levels
The stained glass ceiling fills the upper part of this Hotel Raquel photograph, arching above two levels of green balconies in Havana, Cuba. Its warm yellow and orange sections contrast with the cooler walls below, giving the interior a distinct colour structure. I photographed the space looking along the atrium, where the matching sides draw the eye toward the far wall and the rounded end of the glass vault.
Repeated columns divide the balconies into smaller sections. Cream coloured doorways and decorative trim sit between them, while ornate rails continue along both sides. I enjoy how the regular arrangement supports such a large amount of detail. The glass overhead has its own repeated grid, but its curve changes the direction of those lines and makes a different shape from the straight balcony edges.
Below, the view opens down to the marble floor, with furniture and enclosed floor openings visible within the lower level. Those smaller elements give scale to the atrium without dominating it. The photograph keeps the ceiling, upper galleries and ground floor within one frame, making the relationship between the levels easy to follow.
For me, this view is about the way colour and repetition organize an elaborate interior. It rewards a broad look at the symmetry as well as close attention to the railing and glass patterns. As a print, it would suit an interest in Cuban architecture, stained glass or hotel interiors, with a warm ceiling above a more restrained green palette.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
