Hoover Dam Abstract Concrete Black and White Photography Print
Curved Walls and Deep Shadows Form a Concrete Study
Hoover Dam becomes an arrangement of curves, edges and shadows in this close black and white photograph. I chose a view that concentrates on the concrete itself, where a broad pale surface meets narrower forms and darker spaces. The architectural print offers an abstract way of looking at a recognisable structure without showing the whole landmark.
The largest wall fills the right side, its curve marked by fine lines and darker streaks. On the left, a more shaded surface crosses the picture at an angle. Between them, smaller edges and gaps create a sequence of changes in depth. I like how those elements make the eye work a little, moving between what catches the light and what disappears into the recesses.
I photographed this detail in 2012. The monochrome treatment keeps the different tones of concrete close together while allowing the darkest areas to define the geometry. Texture remains visible across the brighter surface, giving the image a physical quality beyond its basic shapes. It is both a study of structure and a record of a particular way of seeing it.
For someone interested in engineering, architecture or abstract photography, this print can bring a strong geometric presence to a study or workspace. Its restrained palette also suits a living room where form and texture are central. For me, the interest lies in how a small part of a large structure can become a complete visual subject.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
