Tuscany Farmhouse and Rolling Hills Landscape Photography
Warm Evening Light Across Layered Tuscan Fields
The farmhouse is small enough to miss at first, yet it gives these broad Tuscan hills a point of reference. I photographed this landscape in Italy in 2010, with warm evening light moving across the fields and distant ridges fading into haze. The scene opens slowly, from the textured foreground to the cloud-filled sky.
I like the way the land leads the eye. A pale green curve crosses the lower field, dark shadows follow the folds of the hills, and a line of trees interrupts the open farmland. Higher in the frame, the farmhouse sits against a softer backdrop. Its modest scale makes the surrounding countryside feel especially spacious.
Travelling through Tuscany, I explored slowly and stopped when the light gave a landscape its shape. Here, the light separates one rise from another without losing the gentle connection between them. The colours stay close to the land: muted greens, earthy browns and a warm sky, with cooler tones appearing in the distance.
For me, this photograph’s appeal lies in that balance of openness and detail. There is room for the eye to rest, but the fields, trees and clouds keep it moving through the picture. As wall art, it suits someone drawn to rural Italy and quiet landscape photography. The restrained colour palette brings warmth to a living room or workspace, while the layered hills offer a view that feels broad and unhurried.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
