Brașov Weathered Yellow Wall And Graffiti Colour Photograph
Peeling Plaster And Coloured Marks Above Rough Stone
Walking through Brașov, I stopped at a wall whose worn yellow plaster was as interesting as the graffiti across it. I photographed this detail in Romania in 2011, keeping the pale upper surface, coloured markings, and rough stone base together. The square colour image turns an ordinary facade into a close study of layers and texture.
The plaster has come away in irregular patches, leaving darker material exposed beneath it. Small cracks connect some of those openings, while larger worn areas interrupt the yellow paint. I was drawn to how varied the surface had become without losing the sense of a single wall.
The graffiti adds a different kind of line. Red letters occupy the middle, black strokes overlap on one side, and purple marks appear toward the lower right. None of these shapes is isolated from the wall’s condition; the paint follows and crosses the rough surface. Near the base, a small opening reveals brick, giving the photograph another colour and material within the same limited view.
I left the lower stonework visible because it grounds the softer plaster above it. The two textures are quite different, but their muted tones hold the composition together. This is the kind of street detail I enjoy finding on foot: something easily passed by that becomes more complex when given attention. As wall art, the photograph offers warm colour and urban texture without needing a broad city scene.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
