Oslo Architecture Folding Across a Segmented Mirror Surface

The city seemed to turn back on itself when I encountered this reflective surface in Oslo. Buildings, windows and pale sky cut across one another at steep angles, divided by the seams of the mirrored panels. My black and white photograph keeps that layered view intact, turning a real architectural reflection into a composition of grids, diagonals and shifting depth.

I was walking through a contemporary district when the reflection caught my attention. Instead of looking at one uninterrupted façade, I could see its shape broken into adjoining sections. Rows of windows repeat across a broad diagonal plane, while another building rises from the lower right. A pale band of sky separates them. The panel joints run through all of these elements, sometimes meeting the building lines and sometimes cutting across them. Near the lower edge, smaller street details and bare branches help anchor the picture in the city I was exploring.

The soft light allowed the surfaces to hold a range of grey tones, from pale cladding to dark openings. I liked the way those quieter textures made the strong angles stand out without becoming harsh. At first the image reads almost as an abstract arrangement; on closer inspection, the reflected architecture begins to make sense. That change in how the photograph is seen is part of its appeal for me. It offers a distinctive choice for a modern interior, especially where geometric art and city photography meet, while preserving the unexpected view I found on an ordinary walk through Oslo.

About My Fine Art Photography

Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.

I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.

My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
