Politics Kills Graffiti Buenos Aires Black and White Photography
Small Dark Lettering Beneath Cracks in a Pale Wall
The words “Politics kills” occupy only a small part of this wall in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I photographed them with plenty of the surrounding surface still visible, allowing the short message to sit within a much larger field of marks, cracks and uneven tones. The writing is off to the right and below the middle, so it is something to discover rather than a headline filling the frame.
The wall has its own strong lines. A long crack runs across the upper portion, while a lighter vertical seam passes near the lettering. Smaller scratches and mottled areas cover the rest of the surface. I like how those marks provide a different kind of reading around the written words.
In black and white, the small dark letters remain distinct against the paler wall. They do not have to be large to carry weight within the picture. The surrounding texture keeps them connected to an actual street surface, with its irregularities visible rather than cleaned away.
I wanted to preserve the message as I found it without supplying a story about its writer. The photograph cannot explain who made the mark or what particular event prompted it. It can hold the words and their setting together. Looking at the finished view, I move between the brief statement and the quieter detail around it: the long crack, the pale seam and the many smaller changes across the wall.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
