The Buzz and Grit of New York City Nights
New York doesn’t sleep. Not in the movies, not in real life, and definitely not here—right in the heart of Times Square in 2005. This image isn’t just a moment captured, it’s a time capsule. You can almost hear the cabs honking, the crowd chatter, and the buzz of fluorescent electricity bouncing off the pavement. It was one of those nights where I wasn’t even planning to shoot—but New York had other plans.
I shot this handheld, standing at a crosswalk that felt like the edge of the world. I remember being pulled into the scene—cars crawling through, streams of pedestrians swarming like synchronized chaos, and that clock glowing high above the Renaissance Hotel reminding me that time, here, waits for no one.
Black and white felt like the only honest way to render it. Strip away the neon and you’re left with the bones of the city—its rhythm, its movement, its layered architecture of people and place. It’s raw. It’s loud without making a sound. You start noticing things you’d otherwise miss: the old Budweiser and Eminem billboards, the glowing tip of the TDK sign, even a fleeting figure caught mid-stride in front of a white Crown Victoria. This is a visual symphony of 2000s-era Manhattan, and it plays differently every time you look at it.
There’s no Instagram filter or AI trickery here—this is what the street looked like. What it felt like. You can’t replicate this kind of atmosphere in post-production. You have to stand there. You have to feel the sidewalk under your boots, the heat from a manhole, and the way the light hits your face at 11:47 PM. That’s when this was taken, by the way—11:47 PM, and not a hint of rest in sight.
This piece belongs on the wall of anyone who’s felt the thrill of New York—whether you lived it or you just get it. For me, it’s more than a photo. It’s a reminder that even in chaos, there’s poetry.

Limited Edition of 10
This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.
Premium Archival Fine Art Prints
I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.
The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.
Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.
Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.

Every print is personally produced, inspected, signed, numbered, and carefully packaged by me at my studio in Haliburton, Ontario, Canada.
Worldwide delivery is included in the listed price, so there is no additional shipping charge added during checkout. I select an appropriate tracked delivery service based on the destination, print size, and current shipping requirements.
Delivery times vary by destination and may be affected by customs processing or circumstances beyond my control.
Because I also travel extensively to create new photographic work, studio dispatch may occasionally be delayed while I am away. When that happens, the print will be produced and shipped as soon as I return to the studio.
