Tokyo Skytree From Below Black and White Architecture Photography
Steel Triangles Drawing the Eye Into Clouded Sky
Looking upward from near the base of Tokyo Skytree, I saw the tower become a dense arrangement of converging lines. This black and white architecture photograph follows its steel lattice toward the round observation deck, with textured clouds surrounding the structure. The broad beams at the bottom give the image a strong foundation before the repeated triangles narrow into the distance.
I made the photograph by tilting my camera upward until the tower filled the vertical frame. From this position, the scale is felt through perspective: the nearest columns are substantial, while the cross braces become smaller and more closely packed as the eye travels higher. I was interested in that rhythm as much as the landmark itself. The cloudy sky gave the metal a background with its own variation, so the structure could stand out without the scene feeling flat or empty around it.
In monochrome, the pale beams separate clearly from the darker spaces inside the lattice. I can follow one diagonal, cross to another, and find another layer behind it, each line contributing to the same upward movement. The rounded deck interrupts the pattern near the top, providing a visual destination after the long climb through steel. For someone drawn to Tokyo landmarks, Japanese architecture, or geometric photography, this is a view that emphasizes the experience of standing close and looking up. I wanted to retain that slight sense of imbalance, where the tower feels both precisely organized and almost too large to take in at once.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
