Isolated Prairie Farmstead And Fences Stretching Across Open Plains
There are places in the American prairie where the land seems to stretch forever. No hills to interrupt the horizon. No forests to crowd the view. Just open land, wind, grass, and sky. When I came across this farmhouse out in rural Nebraska, that feeling hit immediately. The building stood alone against the enormous prairie, surrounded by fences and fields that faded slowly into the distance.
What caught my attention first was the scene's quiet balance. The farmhouse sits slightly off to the right, modest and weathered, while the fencing and gates gently guide the eye across the land toward it. Nothing here is rushed or dramatic. Instead, the image carries a sense of calm persistence—land that has been worked for generations and a structure that has endured the rhythm of prairie life.
The prairie itself tells its own story. Grasses spread across the foreground in soft textures, broken only by lines of fencing that divide the land for livestock and grazing. Farther out, the cattle pens and wooden rails add a subtle geometry to the landscape, small human marks in an otherwise vast and quiet environment. Above it all hangs an enormous sky, one of those Midwestern skies that seems almost too large for the earth beneath it.
Photographing this scene was about patience and restraint. I spent time observing how the fences led through the frame and how the farmhouse anchored the composition against the distant horizon. The black-and-white treatment emphasizes the textures of grass, wood, and sky while removing the distractions of color, allowing the structure and the land to speak for themselves.
This photograph was captured on location during my travels through the American plains. Standing there in the wind, looking across miles of open ranchland, I felt the same sense of solitude and resilience that defines much of rural North America. Moments like this are why I continue to explore backroads and quiet landscapes—because sometimes the simplest scenes carry the strongest presence.
I personally sign each print and include a certificate of authenticity. The photograph is printed using archival pigment inks on museum-quality fine art paper to ensure longevity and faithful tonal depth.

This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.

I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.
The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.
Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.
Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.

Worldwide delivery is included in the listed price, so there is no additional shipping charge added during checkout. I select an appropriate tracked delivery service based on the destination, print size, and current shipping requirements.
Delivery times vary by destination and may be affected by customs processing or circumstances beyond my control.
Because I also travel extensively to create new photographic work, studio dispatch may occasionally be delayed while I am away. When that happens, the print will be produced and shipped as soon as I return to the studio.
