Eros Bendato Head Sculpture Black and White Night Photography
A Reclining Head Beneath Balconies and Lit Windows
A monumental head rests low in a paved square, surrounded by the darkness of night. In my black and white photograph of Eros Bendato, the face and its crossing bands emerge gradually from the shadows. Behind it, illuminated windows and a doorway bring parts of the building into view, leaving much of the square and sky almost black.
The sculpture is by Igor Mitoraj. Rather than making its scale the only subject, I have kept the surrounding architecture in the picture. Balustrades stretch horizontally across the façade, while the pointed windows introduce a different rhythm above the head. Those repeated lines give the reclining form a setting, and the small areas of light draw attention back and forth between the sculpture and the building.
What holds my interest here is the way a public space becomes a concentrated arrangement of shapes after dark. The pale paving runs toward the head, then disappears into deeper tones at the edges. Surface texture remains visible on the sculpture even where individual features are partly obscured. The photograph asks for a slower look: first the face, then the bands, the balconies and the light beyond.
As a wall print, this image offers a combination of sculptural detail and night architecture. It would suit someone drawn to public art photographed in its surroundings, with strong dark areas and a few carefully placed highlights giving the scene its presence.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
