Greenwood Storefronts and Bay Windows Black and White Architecture Photography
Wooden Facades Along a Quiet British Columbia Street
The bay windows gave me a reason to stop on this street in Greenwood. I was travelling through British Columbia and had taken time to walk through town, watching how the buildings lined up from different positions. The Greenwood Saloon Inn and neighbouring Pacific Grill made an especially strong pair. Their signs were easy to recognize, but the repeated windows, projecting trim and changing heights held my attention longer than the lettering alone.
I photographed the row at an angle, allowing the facades to recede toward the left. The Saloon Inn has a more intricate surface, with windows projecting above the sidewalk and curved decorative details beneath the roofline. Beside it, the Pacific Grill presents a broader, flatter wall, broken by dark windows and striped awnings. Benches and doorways bring the view down to street level. I included the empty roadway in front and enough sky above to give the buildings room within the square frame.
Black and white lets me follow the rhythm of those architectural details without separating the buildings by colour. The pale siding catches the light, while the windows and shadows under the trim give it depth. Broken clouds extend the pattern beyond the roofline. I remember studying this row as a connected view, with one facade leading naturally into the next. That relationship is what I wanted to keep: a street scene that rewards looking from the larger outlines down to the smaller pieces of woodwork.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
