Ontario Boy Riding a Bicycle Black and White Village Photography
A Tree Lined Road Beside a Wooden Cottage
A young cyclist approaches along a narrow road, passing a wooden house with pale window shutters. I photographed this Ontario village scene in 2021, drawn to the way an everyday moment sits within such a closely framed setting. The boy and bicycle give the view its human scale, while the road curves away between trees towards the smaller buildings in the distance.
The cottage’s gabled front provides a strong shape on the left. Vertical boards, a raised porch and a sloping handrail create a series of lines that lead down towards the rider. I like how the light shutters and doorframe stand out from the darker timber, giving the building a few clear points of brightness. Dense foliage on the right makes a softer boundary for the road.
Black and white brings the cyclist, house and trees into the same tonal language. The smooth roadway is a quiet area within a scene full of leaves, boards and small architectural details. For me, that open space helps the bicycle remain easy to notice without overpowering the setting. This print offers a small-town Ontario moment built around familiar forms: a road, a home, surrounding trees and someone passing by. It suits an interest in Canadian village life and photographs that find their subject in the ordinary pace of a street.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
