As I stood before the imposing bow of the SS Sapona shipwreck, a blend of awe and somber reflection enveloped me. Now, as it rests half-submerged off the coast of Bimini, Bahamas, the SS Sapona has become an emblem of the passage of time and the enduring tales of the sea. Its history, from a cargo vessel to a prohibition-era rum runner and later as a target for aerial bombings, encapsulates a rich tapestry of events.
