Saigon Sunset Skyline Through Haze Colour Photography
A Small Orange Sun Above a Layered City Horizon
The sun is small against the city below it. From high above central Saigon, I watched the buildings flatten into successive layers as the evening haze softened the distance. This colour photograph, made in 2026, pairs an orange sky with the cooler green-grey tones of a densely built urban landscape.
The atmosphere was part of the scene as I experienced it. Nearer buildings retain windows, rooftops and more definite edges, while the distant skyline gradually loses detail. I wanted that changing visibility to remain in the photograph. It gives the city depth without a single tower having to dominate the view.
Warm light appears in small patches on roofs and windows, connecting the lower part of the image to the sky. Above them, streaked clouds surround the setting sun, which is partly softened by the haze. The broad horizontal bands of colour make the composition clear, while the tightly packed architecture introduces a much finer texture within those bands.
What holds my attention is the difference in scale between that one bright point and all the buildings beneath it. I can first take in the sunset, then return to the many layers of the city. The muted colours allow both to stay present without making the photograph excessively bright. It offers an atmospheric view of Saigon shaped by the light and visibility of that particular evening.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
