Vintage Ford Pickup Headlight and Grille Sepia Photography
A Round Headlight Beside Curved Grille Bars and Emblem
I found this vintage Ford pickup off a quiet road in New Brunswick during a cross-Canada trip. The front corner had enough detail to draw me closer: a round headlight, the Ford emblem and a curved grille with closely spaced bars. I kept the frame tight, using a warm sepia treatment to bring those shapes into a subdued tonal range.
The headlight sits slightly away from the body, with a smaller light beneath it. Its patterned glass catches the brightest part of the image, while the surrounding metal turns through softer tones. Above, the emblem rests beside a set of horizontal openings that lead toward the edge of the hood.
At the right, the grille becomes a tall band of repetition. Each narrow bar catches light along its surface, with dark spaces between them. That rhythm contrasts with the broad curves around the headlight and the simpler area of metal above it. I wanted those different shapes to stay close enough that the eye could move between them without leaving the detail.
The warm tone gives the worn surfaces a quieter presence, but the photograph still depends on light and structure. Small marks remain visible in the metal, and the glass has a texture of its own. For me, the close view keeps the roadside discovery personal: a few details from a truck that made me stop during a much longer journey.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
