Manhattan Skyscraper at Night Warm Light Urban Architecture Photography
A Bright Window Grid Rises Above Darker Towers and Streets
High above Manhattan, I photographed a tower still under construction as its illuminated floors stood out from the darker buildings around it. This colour night view follows the skyscraper from its lower levels to the less brightly lit top, with small points of street light scattered below. The warm window grid was what first drew my attention.
The nearest corner gives the tower two visible faces, each divided into closely repeated rectangles. Some floors are brighter than others, creating bands within the larger pattern. I wanted to keep the full vertical form in the image rather than crop around only the brightest section. Its scale becomes clearer beside the narrower towers and lower rooftops nearby.
From this height, streets appear as fine lines of light between dark blocks. They add another grid beneath the building, but one that is much less regular in brightness. Small illuminated surfaces emerge from the shadows without making the whole city equally visible. That selective light gives the photograph its depth.
I enjoy elevated views of New York because they change the balance between individual buildings and the city around them. Here, one bright structure holds the centre while the surrounding streets remain part of its setting. The photograph preserves the tower as a work in progress, with a strong window pattern and a darker upper outline against Manhattan at night.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
