Sticker Covered Alleyway With Red Painted Garage Doors

There’s a kind of quiet intimacy hidden in this doorway that most people would probably walk right past without noticing. At first glance, it’s just another back-alley entrance somewhere in Shoreditch—layers of posters, peeling paste-ups, spray paint, and tags competing for space across aging concrete and chipped brick. But then the doors come into view, and everything shifts.

Two simple figures—one dark, one light—stand side by side, holding hands across a faded red garage door that’s been opened and closed thousands of times. The paint is worn in places, streaked by weather and use, and the black outlines of the figures sit just loosely enough on the surface that they feel temporary, like they could be gone tomorrow. Around them, the alley is a collage of visual noise: torn paper remnants, sticker bombs, scuffed plaster, and rusting metal fixtures layered over years of changing street culture.

Above the doorway, a watchful pigeon mural looks down over the scene, framed by an assortment of smaller drawings and pasted portraits that have settled into the wall like sediment. The concrete lintel catches the soft light filtering down from the narrow street, while the pavement below carries the marks of drainage covers and worn surfaces shaped by time and traffic.

I photographed this on location while exploring the back lanes of East London—one of those moments where the composition seems to present itself without warning. Nothing staged, nothing rearranged—just a fragment of urban life that happened to exist exactly like this when I turned the corner.

Each print is personally signed and includes a certificate of authenticity. Printed using archival pigment inks on professional-grade photographic paper, the tonal balance and texture of the original scene are preserved with exceptional detail.
