Towering Ice Walls Above Antarctic Waters
The sheer wall of this Antarctic iceberg dominates the frame, rising directly from the dark water with an almost architectural presence. Its surface is anything but smooth. Long vertical grooves, fractured ledges, compressed layers, rounded hollows, and deep channels run through the ice, recording a structure shaped by forces that are constantly working on it. Behind the foreground wall, another enormous section of ice reaches into the distance, while snow-covered mountains emerge beyond it beneath a sky filled with broken clouds.
I chose black and white because this photograph is fundamentally about form, scale, texture, and tonal separation rather than color. The darker sea anchors the bottom of the composition while the pale ice rises through increasingly complex layers of gray and white. That contrast gives the photograph its depth. Within my Antarctica wall art photography, this image is particularly focused on the physical character of the ice itself rather than the broader sweep of the polar landscape.
What keeps my attention is the face of the iceberg on the right. Light catches its irregular surface differently from one section to the next, revealing ridges that resemble folds, columns, and carved stone. The edge of the ice projects outward over the water, creating a strong boundary between the massive frozen structure and the nearly black sea below. Farther back, the second ice wall creates another vertical plane, and the distant mountain gives the eye a final point of reference beyond the foreground.
For me, the vertical composition was essential. It allows the ice to fill the photograph from waterline to sky and emphasizes the immense upward movement of the subject. The result works naturally as black and white wall art for collectors drawn to Antarctica, polar landscapes, ice formations, wilderness photography, and photographs built around strong natural structure and texture.
This photograph is offered as a limited edition of only 10 prints. Each print is personally signed by me and includes a certificate of authenticity. I print the photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper, preserving the fine tonal transitions and surface detail that are so important to this image. For collectors particularly drawn to the sculptural forms and extraordinary surfaces of frozen landscapes, this photograph also belongs within my iceberg wall art photography.

Limited Edition of 10
This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.
Premium Archival Fine Art Prints
I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.
The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.
Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.
Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.
