White Script Across Red and Golden Wooden Boards
White Coca-Cola lettering sweeps across a red wooden wall in this color photograph. I framed the painted advertisement closely, letting its familiar curves meet the straight vertical lines of the boards. Strips of exposed wood introduce warm gold and brown, giving the surface a rhythm that is as strong as the lettering itself.
The word “Drink” sits above the larger script, which stretches nearly across the image. Small scratches and missing paint interrupt its white strokes without making them difficult to recognize. The red remains vivid, but it is uneven: brighter areas sit beside darker patches and long sections where the wood shows through. Those differences give the photograph its particular character.
I am drawn to the meeting of an instantly recognizable design and a surface that has changed over time. The logo supplies flowing lines, while the boards divide those lines into separate sections. Looking more closely reveals grain, narrow cracks, and worn edges. The image has the directness of a sign, yet its detail rewards a slower look than the advertisement originally asked for.
With its strong red, warm wood tones, and white script, this photograph can bring a nostalgic accent to a kitchen, dining area, or interior with vintage furnishings. For me, the interest lies in how paint and weathered wood share the same space: a familiar piece of advertising becomes a composition of color, line, and texture.
