Berlin Glass Office Courtyard Black and White Architecture Print
Lit Offices Form a Grid Around a Narrow Courtyard
Behind the glass, individual rooms remain visible. Desks, chairs, and small details of office life sit within a much larger arrangement of windows in this Berlin night photograph. I was drawn to that shift in scale: a facade that first reads as a precise grid, then reveals many separate interior spaces when you look more closely.
The black and white treatment keeps the composition centred on light and structure. Bright windows alternate with darker panels, and the railings across them introduce fine horizontal lines. On the left, the building curves gently into the courtyard; on the right, the glazing recedes more sharply towards the centre. Those two directions create depth within a tightly framed architectural view.
At ground level, a handrail and low planting provide a simpler foreground. I included them as a way into the scene, with the rail echoing the larger window framework above. The small garden also gives the repeated glass and metal a different texture without becoming the main subject.
What holds my attention is the balance between order and variation. The building’s framework repeats consistently, but the light and contents of each room change. There are enough differences to keep the eye moving through the grid. This is a close view of modern Berlin architecture after dark, with the interior illumination revealing more than the exterior alone could show. For a workspace or a collection of monochrome city photographs, the print brings a detailed, geometric presence.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
