Ha’penny Bridge Dublin Predawn River Reflection Photography
Gold and Green Lights Stretch Across the Liffey
Before daylight reaches the river, the lamps give Dublin a different shape. Their reflections stretch towards the foreground in long gold, white and green bands, with the Ha’penny Bridge crossing the Liffey above them. I photographed this view in the predawn darkness, keeping the illuminated bridge between the two converging riverbanks.
The bridge is relatively small within the frame, but its pale railings and green-lit ends give the eye a clear point to settle. Buildings and trees line both sides, their darker forms broken by windows and streetlights. The river gathers those scattered lights into a much stronger pattern below.
I like how the reflections seem to lengthen the scene. What begins as a row of small lights along the quays becomes a series of broad, glowing lines on the water. The darker spaces between them are just as useful, keeping the colours separate and giving the foreground depth.
Above the city, the sky remains a deep blue-grey. It provides a large, quiet area that balances the brightness along the waterline. On the right, the stone steps and railings add a closer architectural detail without taking attention away from the crossing.
This photograph holds Dublin through its familiar pedestrian bridge and the light reflected beneath it. The appeal for me is that combination of recognizable place and almost abstract colour: a city view whose strongest movement is carried by the river.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
