Clarence Town Teapot Black and White Still Life Print
An Old Metal Teapot Against Weathered Wooden Boards
An old metal teapot rests on a wooden shelf in this black and white still life from Clarence Town, Bahamas. Its high, dark handle makes a broad loop against the vertical boards, while the curved spout reaches toward the lighter side of the room. I found this small domestic scene during my visit in 2010.
The teapot has a plain, practical shape, and that simplicity gives its worn surface room to speak. Small marks catch the light across the rounded body. The handle remains much darker, forming a clear outline above it. I am interested in the balance between those two parts: a solid, bright vessel beneath an almost empty oval.
The shelf and wall are just as important to the composition. Lines in the boards rise behind the teapot, and the shelf cuts across them at an angle. Below it, a deep shadow removes most of the detail. That dark area anchors the photograph and makes the modest object above it feel particularly present.
This is the kind of scene I return to in my photography: something ordinary, noticed closely enough to become a subject in its own right. The image does not need a reconstruction of who used the teapot or what happened in the room. Its visible wear, the grain of the wood, and the quiet arrangement already offer plenty to look at.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
