Havana Malecon Fisherman in Golden Sunset Colour Photography
A Seated Silhouette Faces Shimmering Water and Skyline
Golden light spreads across the water behind a man fishing from Havana’s Malecon. Seated on the seawall with his legs extended, he faces away from the camera while his rod rises into the open sky. I photographed the scene at the end of the day, with the distant city reduced to a warm outline beyond the water. The figure remains dark against that brightness, making his posture and the long rod easy to read.
The composition has three clear levels: the seawall and its shaded foreground, the rippling sea, and the broad area of light above the skyline. The fishing rod connects them, climbing from the man’s hands through the brightest part of the frame. Small reflections break across the water, while the buildings on the left establish the city setting. That balance gives the photograph both a personal scale and a sense of open space.
I am drawn to the contrast between the simple seated figure and the many small points of light on the sea. The warm colour carries the evening atmosphere without needing a view of the sun itself. For a room with natural wood or warm accents, this print could provide a related palette; among travel photographs, it offers a quieter moment of Havana’s waterfront life. Its vertical shape leaves plenty of sky around the rod and enough of the seawall to anchor the view.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
