Sculptural Blue Antarctic Iceberg Fine Art Photograph
An Upward Curving Ice Form Above Turquoise Water
One section of the iceberg curves upward like a raised fin, standing apart from the more heavily folded ice around it. Blue gathers in the deeper recesses, while brighter surfaces appear almost white. During my Antarctic voyage in 2011, I was struck by how this single formation combined rough texture with such a distinct sculptural shape.
The closer view brings that contrast forward. On the left, long grooves and broken-looking ridges descend toward the water. Near the centre, rounded forms overlap beneath the upward projection. The blue is strongest where the surfaces turn inward, giving the ice a sense of depth that changes from one small area to the next.
Turquoise water occupies a narrow part of the lower frame. Its fine ripples provide a different texture from the larger folds above it. Beyond the central formation, another pale section of ice closes part of the view on the right.
The sky carries its own soft pattern of white clouds against blue. I kept it visible above the iceberg so the upper curve would have space around it, making the shape easier to follow.
This print offers Antarctic ice as a colour study as well as a natural sculpture. It can bring a cool blue accent to a room, with the recognisable iceberg holding the composition together even where the detail feels abstract. What stays with me is the variety within the ice: sharp edges, rounded hollows, and that one form reaching upward.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
