Whenever I’m photographing New York City from above, I’m reminded just how quickly this place reinvents itself. Standing high over Manhattan and looking down at a tower still under construction, I felt that familiar sense of the city stretching itself upward, adding one more vertical story to its ongoing narrative. This print captures that moment—New York in mid-transformation, a tower glowing from within while the grids of surrounding streets pulse with headlights, office lights, and the restless energy that never seems to slow here.

What really drew me in was how the building itself becomes a kind of lantern in the night. Those warm windows, stacked in precise patterns, feel almost alive against the darker glass of the towers nearby. When I photographed this scene, I wasn’t just looking at a structure rising skyward; I was watching a work in progress, a reminder of how this city grows one beam, one floor, one late-night shift at a time. There’s a raw honesty in a skyline that isn’t finished, and I’ve always loved capturing that transitional moment before everything snaps into polished completion.

From this height, Manhattan takes on an entirely different character. The traffic becomes thin golden threads, the buildings flatten into geometric puzzles, and the river fades into the background like a quiet observer. The whole scene has a cinematic quality to it—dark, moody, full of contrast and atmosphere. City streets glow like veins, feeding light through the landscape. It’s a perspective that never really gets old, no matter how many times I chase it.

The mix of sharp architectural lines, deep shadows, and warm internal light makes this an incredibly engaging piece for anyone drawn to cityscapes or modern architecture. It brings all the tension and beauty of New York’s vertical world into a single frame—ambition, grit, and constant movement, frozen for just a heartbeat.

If you’re someone who loves the feeling of standing above a city that never stops building, this piece is going to speak to you. It carries the mood of New York at night—restless, glowing, always reaching upward. That sense of becoming is what I wanted to preserve, and it’s what gives this print its character.

Limited Edition of 10

This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.

Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.

I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.

Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.

Premium Archival Fine Art Prints

I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.

The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.

Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.

Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.

Worldwide Delivery Included

Every print is personally produced, inspected, signed, numbered, and carefully packaged by me at my studio in Haliburton, Ontario, Canada.

Worldwide delivery is included in the listed price, so there is no additional shipping charge added during checkout. I select an appropriate tracked delivery service based on the destination, print size, and current shipping requirements.

Delivery times vary by destination and may be affected by customs processing or circumstances beyond my control.

Because I also travel extensively to create new photographic work, studio dispatch may occasionally be delayed while I am away. When that happens, the print will be produced and shipped as soon as I return to the studio.
