Classic Cord Roadster Windshield and Body Detail Photograph
Pale Curves And A Dark Roof Before Stone Steps
The roadster's shape caught me before any individual detail did. I waited for the light to bring out the pale bodywork, then framed the Cord close enough to concentrate on the windshield, door, and lower louvres. In black and white, the dark roof gives those lighter surfaces a strong boundary.
The angled windshield carries much of the composition. Its frame rises between the rounded hood and the darker top, while small fittings and reflections remain visible through the glass. A glimpse of the steering wheel adds depth beyond that first bright surface without taking the photograph into a full interior view.
I like the relationship between the car and the building behind it. Stone steps lead toward tall windows, with balustrades and urn-like shapes along the terrace. Those architectural lines are softer than the car's nearer edges, giving the roadster a setting while allowing the bodywork to remain the focus.
Lower in the frame, the horizontal louvres and projecting door handle introduce smaller changes in light and shadow. The photograph moves between those fine details and the larger sweep of the panels. I wanted to preserve the sense of a complete design through a partial view: enough of the Cord to recognize its character, with space for the reflective surfaces and curved forms that first made me stop.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
