In this photograph, I've captured the essence of a Chinstrap penguin in the heart of Antarctica. The photo highlights the striking features of this bird, showcasing its unique character and beauty. The Chinstrap penguin, known for its narrow black band under its head, resembles wearing a black helmet. Its distinct call earns it names like ringed, bearded, and stonecracker penguin.
This species, typically growing to 68–76 cm in length and weighing 3.2–5.3 kg, displays a notable difference in size between males and females. The adult penguin's flippers are black with a white edge, while its face, extending behind the reddish-brown eyes, is white. Its body's black and white underside offers camouflage from predators when viewed from above or below. The pink webbed feet and strong legs add to its unique appearance.
Chinstrap penguins are widely distributed, breeding in various locations across Antarctica and nearby regions. Their diet mainly consists of fish, krill, shrimp, and squid, for which they can swim up to 80 km offshore. Their tightly packed feathers and thick blubber help them thrive in the freezing Antarctic waters.
On land, these penguins are known for building circular stone nests and laying two eggs. Both parents share incubation duties, and the chicks hatch with fluffy grey backs and white fronts. Interestingly, Chinstrap penguins are considered the most aggressive and ill-tempered among penguin species.
In my Antarctica photos, I aim to bring out the intriguing nature of this bird, highlighting its physical characteristics and the environment in which it thrives. The photograph is not just an image; it's a glimpse into the life of a Chinstrap penguin, offering viewers a chance to connect with this remarkable species from one of the most remote parts of our planet, Antarctica. This continent, the southernmost landmass on Earth, is a haven for wildlife adapted to its extreme conditions. Limited Edition of 10
This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.

I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.
The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.
Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.
Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.

Every print is personally produced, inspected, signed, numbered, and carefully packaged by me at my studio in Haliburton, Ontario, Canada.
Worldwide delivery is included in the listed price, so there is no additional shipping charge added during checkout. I select an appropriate tracked delivery service based on the destination, print size, and current shipping requirements.
Delivery times vary by destination and may be affected by customs processing or circumstances beyond my control.
Because I also travel extensively to create new photographic work, studio dispatch may occasionally be delayed while I am away. When that happens, the print will be produced and shipped as soon as I return to the studio.
