Seoul Curved Skyscraper Black and White Architectural Photography
Flowing Facade Ribs Rise Toward a Pointed Roofline
The curves of this skyscraper drew me to a low viewpoint during an overcast morning in Seoul's Seocho District. Looking upward, I could follow its narrow facade ribs from the broad base to the pointed top. In this black and white architectural photograph, their shifting paths give the building a remarkably fluid outline.
I leaned into that upward view and allowed the tower to fill almost the entire frame. Its sides swell and narrow as they rise, while a brighter band near the centre pulls the eye through the darker surfaces around it. The repeated lines stay close together, but their spacing and direction change enough to make each section feel different. Small portions of neighbouring buildings remain along the edges, where their straighter forms help show how unusual this facade is.
The cloud cover gave me soft light across the glass and a pale background behind the roofline. I was interested in how much movement I could find within a fixed structure, simply by choosing where to stand and how to frame it. The close repetition of dark ribs and bright window strips makes the photograph readable from a distance; closer inspection reveals the separate panels beneath that larger pattern. It is a view of Seoul that holds my attention through shape, light, and the building's own changing lines.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
