Gdansk Gabled Buildings and Cobblestone Street Black and White Photography
Changing Rooflines Along a Long Gdansk Street Perspective
Curved gables, rows of tall windows, and a distant tower give this Gdansk street its strong architectural rhythm. I photographed the Polish city in black and white, looking along the building line from close façades toward the far end of the road. The cobblestones add a textured foreground beneath the taller, lighter forms.
No two building fronts are quite the same. One roofline curls around a small oval opening; another rises to a sharper peak; farther along, a geometric façade introduces a more regular pattern. I wanted those differences to remain visible while the street gathered them into a single view. The gradual reduction in scale gives the photograph its depth.
The lower part of the composition is comparatively open. A diagonal curb and the paving guide the eye toward the distant tower, while a few small figures keep the scene connected to everyday city life. Above, the clouded sky provides a soft backdrop for the rooflines. It allows their outlines to stand clearly without creating a harsh separation from the rest of the image.
I find this view satisfying because it combines close architectural detail with a longer urban perspective. The windows invite inspection, and the street keeps drawing attention onward. In a study, office, or living room with a restrained palette, the square photograph can bring the character of a European city through shape, texture, and a measured sense of distance.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
