This photograph was created along the Alaskan coast at low tide, when the shoreline stretches out, and the ocean pulls back just far enough to expose a broad band of tidal flats. The scene is simple in the best way—layers of wet sand, shallow water, and a bright strip of light on the horizon. The surface catches the sun in a scattered shimmer, not flashy, just steady, like the coast is quietly breathing.
What I love here is the scale. The tidal flats feel endless, and the ocean line sits calm and straight in the distance.
