Faded Coca-Cola Wall in Mysore India Colour Photography
Worn Red Paint and Sweeping Letters Fill the Frame
I was on my way to photograph something else when this wall stopped me. Down a side street in Mysore, a worn Coca-Cola advertisement had become more than a sign. Red paint, broad looping letters and pale plaster formed a composition that felt almost abstract when I moved in close.
The photograph keeps only a fragment of the lettering. Its sweeping curves run beyond the edges, so the eye follows shape before it reads a word. Dark outlines give the pale letters definition against the red ground. Across both, scraped and faded patches interrupt the painted surface, leaving small islands of colour and exposed texture.
A vertical strip of warm, light-coloured plaster sits at the left. That quieter area matters to me: it gives the larger curves room and makes their movement across the right side more pronounced. The narrow dark seam between the two surfaces holds the composition together without becoming its main subject.
I kept the framing tight because the paint itself was what drew me in. The old advertisement remained recognizable, but its weathering changed the way I looked at it. A surface intended for a passing glance had become something worth studying.
Made in 2010, this Mysore photograph preserves that unexpected pause. The red, pale lettering and rough plaster give it a strong graphic presence, while the wear keeps it tactile rather than polished. It brings together Indian street detail, painted typography and the visual character of an aging commercial wall.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
