Old Dutch Kitchen With Fireplace And Window Light
I stepped into this room and immediately slowed down. It had that quiet weight to it—the kind of space where nothing feels staged because everything already belongs. Thick wooden beams run across the ceiling, slightly uneven, carrying the age of the place in every line. The floorboards creak just enough to remind you that this isn’t a replica—it’s lived history.
The fireplace anchors the room. Blackened, worn, functional. There’s a kettle sitting low, a bundle of sticks ready for the next fire, and a few simple utensils scattered nearby. Nothing decorative. Everything has a purpose. Above it, a small crucifix hangs on the wall—subtle, but it changes the tone of the entire space. It adds a sense of belief, routine, and presence that goes beyond the physical objects.
What pulled me in most was the window. The fabric curtain is loose, imperfect, letting light spill in unevenly. That light stretches across the wooden floor, across the chair, across the wall—soft, directional, and honest. It doesn’t flood the room. It just touches it. That’s where this image really lives—in that contrast between shadow and light, between use and stillness.
I photographed this on location in the Netherlands, walking through one of those preserved historic interiors where time doesn’t feel frozen—it just feels uninterrupted. I didn’t move anything. I didn’t need to. The composition was already there, waiting. It was simply a matter of standing still long enough to see it.
The sepia tone felt right for this scene. It leans into the warmth of the wood, the age of the materials, and the quiet rhythm of the room without overcomplicating it. This isn’t about colour. It’s about texture, structure, and atmosphere.
This piece works well in spaces that need grounding. Offices, reading rooms, quiet corners—anywhere that benefits from a sense of calm and history. It doesn’t shout. It sits with you.

This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.
Premium Archival Fine Art Prints
I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.
The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.
Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.
Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.

Every print is personally produced, inspected, signed, numbered, and carefully packaged by me at my studio in Haliburton, Ontario, Canada.
Worldwide delivery is included in the listed price, so there is no additional shipping charge added during checkout. I select an appropriate tracked delivery service based on the destination, print size, and current shipping requirements.
Delivery times vary by destination and may be affected by customs processing or circumstances beyond my control.
Because I also travel extensively to create new photographic work, studio dispatch may occasionally be delayed while I am away. When that happens, the print will be produced and shipped as soon as I return to the studio.
