Moody Black and White Photography of New York City
Digging through my archive of images in my Adobe Lightroom Database (over 200,000 images), I start to find pictures that I gravitate towards as a fine-art pictures. For example, I have made many trips to New York City, United States. I wander the streets at night with my camera and tripod and photograph the life on the streets.
My view of street photography is to capture the mood and feel of the scene. In this image, the dark silhouettes of the people walking and reflections from the street create a great atmosphere. This image viewer will wonder about many different parts and continuously find new details. I also love the perfectly placed New York flag on the street lamp poles. It identifies the location of the street photography scene.
The black and white image enhances the mood and the contrast of the reflections from the rainfall that has occurred recently. Busy streets filled with New York Taxis and buses portray the busyness of the night photo.
