Large crude oil pump still in operation on the shores of Lake Ontario | Wall Art

Regular price $30.00 CAD

Select Dimensions

The photograph captures the imposing presence of a large crude oil pump still in operation on the shores of Lake Ontario on an early summer clear day. The metallic structure industrial design contrasts with the landscape's natural beauty, but it reminds us of our dependence on fossil fuels.

The pump's intricate details are visible, from the pipes and valves to the gears and levers. The monochromatic palette of black and white adds a timeless quality to the image as if it could have been taken decades ago or today.

Lake Ontario is one of the Great Lakes of North America, bordering the Canadian province of Ontario and the US state of New York. It is the 14th largest lake in the world by surface area and provides drinking water to over 9 million people. However, it has faced environmental challenges, including pollution and invasive species.
