The frame is dominated by rough, weathered plaster, with deep shadow gathering along the right side and a narrow field of brighter light sliding down the left wall. A small window appears beyond the opening, almost tucked into the architecture, while the tiled floor and worn threshold give the passage a quiet sense of depth.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhat interests me most here is the physical surface. The walls are not smooth or decorative. They are scratched, mottled, uneven, and marked by age, which gives the photograph a tactile quality even before the eye begins to read the geometry of the arch. The small window breaks that large curve with a vertical rectangle, creating a second visual anchor.
