About 5 kilometers north of Sault Ste., Ontario, Canada, you will find the long-closed and derelict Pruce's Motor Inn in Heyden, Ontario. The motor inn's decay has accelerated through vandalism and neglect. However, the retro-looking sign is in front of this old Canadian multi-faceted hospitality business. It's a tall character with the motor inn name, with two different signs below indicating that the establishment has a coffee shop and restaurant.
The abandoned motor inn on Canada's Highway 17 resembles Route 66 in some respects. Small towns and motels are abundant along the several thousand kilometers cross Canada route.
