Cleveland Punch and Shear Works Company, Cleveland, OH, U.S.A.
Cleveland Punch & Shear Works made Metal Punches and Shears. In the early 1900s, the company advertised itself as the 'modern Iron Working Machinery' company that produces punches, shears, rolls, radial drills, plate, rotary planers, etc.
I could not find any additional information about this ancient piece of machinery. But I love the texture and look. To me in a symbol of the dawn of the industrial revolution. How many decades was this machine used? Has an image like this ever been produced? Is this the last one in existence?
For me, all these questions are what interest me in photographing grungy urban scenes. Look closely at the oil, grease rust, and paint chips in the iron surface. I find it a fascinating urban fine art photographic print that will have your viewers questioning and commenting on the artwork's uniqueness.
