Charleston Export Coal Terminal Aerial
Unit price per
As I hover in a helicopter above the Charleston Export Coal Terminal, I capture a stunning aerial view of the abandoned train track and pier that once bustled with activity. The black and white photo treatment brings a nostalgic feel to the image, highlighting the rich history of this South Carolina landmark.
The Charleston Export Coal Terminal was once a bustling hub of activity during the height of the coal industry in South Carolina. The terminal was built in the early 1900s and was a central hub for exporting coal from the region to other parts of the world.
However, with the decline of the coal industry and the rise of other forms of energy production, the terminal became less and less profitable. Eventually, it was abandoned and left to decay over the years.
Now, the terminal is a reminder of a bygone era, a hauntingly beautiful structure that evokes a sense of nostalgia and melancholy. The train tracks, pier, and building, are weathered by time and neglect while the ocean ebb and flow around it.
