I love old signs! In fact, on the 'end-to-end' Route 66 road trip that my wife and I took, we purchased over a dozen real antique signs and license plates. This particular sign was on an oversized garage right along route 66. The owner, an amiable chap, came out to talk to me and even gave me a tour of the inside garage, where he had about six antique cars he was restoring. It was a thing of beauty.
He had a large number of unique Route 66 memorabilia along the outside of his workshop. The authentic antique Route 66 faded sign and the old neon Route 66 sign behind the building glass are two examples.
