Compelling Abstract Photo of Moving Water
This fine art photographic print is exciting to me. I love the abstract nature of cropping into the detail of water splashing down this natural rock water slide over rocks. The image was taken at High Falls in Algonquin Park, located just north of the village of Harcourt, Ontario, in Haliburton County.
The High Falls in Algonquin Park is the perfect place to photograph for its many different locations that provide an excellent nature backdrop. You can find the falls easiest via a well-defined trail that travels 4.5 kilometers through mixed forest to the chutes.
In my black and white photograph of a stream flowing fast over rocks, I slowed down my shutter speed, creating a long exposure abstraction. The artistic usage of long exposure allows me to capture the passage of time, and while you certainly can experience that passage and movement, you can only see it in a photograph.
