A young boy sits on a bench covered in newspapers

Young Indian village boy sitting on the doorstep of a boys orphanage and madrasa

A madrasa is an Islamic religious school or a place of study. However, kids from the local madrasa might meet their school friends to play sports in the afternoon.

This well-dressed young boy sat quietly on the bench in front of the N.M.T. Madrassa Centre. The bright orange worn wall the child was leaning against creates a great backdrop for the street portrait.
