Prague Castle at dusk
Once in a while, go somewhere you've never been before.
This tranquil travel scene was shot just after sunset in what is commonly known as the blue hour. Just before the sky turns to its inky black, the wonderful steel blue is present. Yet it is dark enough to see the colorful reflections.
Not surprisingly, the Prague Castle dominated the list of most-visited Czech tourist attractions in 2018. That is the tallest building in the distance. The foreground is the Czech Republic's government building called the Straka Academy. The neo-baroque architecture of the government building situated along the Vltava river is remarkable. The majestic building architect Václav Roštlapil completed construction in 1986. Oddly enough, even though the building is now occupied by the Czech Republic government, it was originally created to house impoverished kids of nobility.
The second layer of the stock image is the Czech Geological Survey, established in 1919. The purpose of the establishment is to provide the government with geological services.
