Local Cuban standing at the bar in this trendy location
I truly loved this bar in Trinidad, Cuba. The place was tiny compared to what you would typically expect to find in a Tourist location like Trinidad, Cuba. About four hours drive from Havana, Trinidad is one of the first colonial Spanish towns and remains one of the best-preserved Spanish colonial settlements. I love to photograph the brightly sorbet-colored buildings that line the streets of this historic city.
The black and white photograph here is atypical of what you would find in a Spanish colonial town. The man at the bar is wearing a cowboy hat, and the wall is decorated with old American automobile memorabilia and money taped to the ceiling. An old lamp is on one side of the pub, and a beer fridge anchors the opposite side. The entire room is darkly lit and provided an excellent backdrop for this black and white fine art rendering of this unusual drinking establishment. Havana Club rum varieties are displayed prominently at the bar.
