Man standing at Jaume Plensa Crown fountain
Chicago's video sculpture at Millennium Park
Crown Fountain was created in 2004 as an interactive video sculpture and public featured in Chicago's Millennium Park. The 50-foot black granite structure is covered with LEDs to display inward faces digital videography.
In this urban photograph, I found a young man staring face forward right against the wall. Yet, his face was inches away from the wall and video display. This combination of the smiling face in the fountain's display and with his back to you make a great juxtaposition of the two opposite gestures.
