Abandoned and overgrown cafe in South Carolina

An abandoned building I found in rural South Carolina

You look at images of some abandoned buildings, and you can easily envision what it was like in its prime.  This building I found in rural South Carolina was once a highway truckstop diner or restaurant.  On the ground floor of the building are several large windows where patrons can see the outside.  The windows are now boarded up.  You can still see the faded Coca-Cola advertising painted on the side of the building.  The parking lot is now completely covered with overgrown grass and weeds.  Even the building seems to have vines that have taken root and are currently covering the upper portion of the building.

The front of the building was once painted green, which is now peeling over decades of disrepair.  The large sign inviting people to come and eat at the restaurant cafe is still standing, but the lettering is barely visible.  I love that they were advertising that the establishment had air conditioning.  They attest to the fact that in the early part of the 20th century, air conditioning was new and a sought-after luxury in the American South.
