Gentoo Penguin Chick in Antarctica - A Fine Art Print by Dan Kosmayer
My journey in Antarctica led me to this curious Gentoo Penguin chick, a young bird full of life and vigor. Its wings outstretched against the crisp frozen Antarctic snow, the chick wore a plumage of soft grey, a telltale sign of its youth. The contrast between the young bird's plumage and the white snow creates a captivating visual composition.
As the chick grows, its feathers will transform, acquiring the quintessential black and white counter-shade of adult Gentoo Penguins, a metamorphosis that completes by its first year. Like most young penguins, its diet consists of fish, krill, and squid, all regurgitated by its nurturing parents.

As the creator, I personally print, sign, and package every print at my studio in Haliburton, Ontario. These prints are then shipped worldwide via Canada Post free of charge. Therefore, delivery times can vary based on location, anywhere from a few days to several weeks.
Additionally, when traveling and shooting on location, orders placed during these periods will be dispatched upon my return. This may result in delivery times extending to several weeks. However, rest assured that the wait for these unique pieces is well worth it!
