Saigon Wall Art

Saigon Wall Art brings together my photographs of Ho Chi Minh City, a place I found visually relentless, layered, and full of life from early morning into the night. I photographed busy streets, markets, architecture, scooters, quiet corners, people, and the constant movement that gives the city its unmistakable character. These images sit naturally within my broader Vietnam wall art collection, where I follow the country through its streets, cities, and everyday moments. I am drawn to photographs that show how a place actually feels rather than reducing it to familiar landmarks, and that approach runs through this fine art collection. Saigon Wall Art also offers a very different urban rhythm from my Hanoi wall art collection, giving each city its own distinct photographic identity.

Fireworks Bursting Above Ho Chi Minh City At Night

I photographed this sweeping view across Saigon at night, with fireworks opening across the dark sky above one of the densest parts of Ho Chi Minh City. The Bitexco Financial Tower rises prominently on the left, its unmistakable tapered form standing above a layered city of office towers, apartment buildings, rooftops, illuminated windows, and streets disappearing into the distance. Across the right half of the photograph, the fireworks become the dominant element, their bright trails suspended against an almost completely black sky.

I had spent the afternoon scouting for a viewpoint that would give me both the fireworks and enough of the Saigon skyline to create a photograph about the city rather than simply the display overhead. I eventually found myself on a rooftop roughly 30 floors above the streets, photographing handheld and working through the changing bursts as they appeared over the buildings. That elevated perspective is what gives this photograph much of its scale and makes it a natural part of my Vietnam wall art photography collection.

The black-and-white treatment strips away the competing colors of signs, windows, and fireworks and concentrates everything on light, shape, and structure. The brightest bursts appear almost etched into the sky, while smaller fireworks closer to the horizon lead the eye downward into the illuminated city. In the foreground, tightly packed buildings form a dark, intricate base. Above them, taller towers break the skyline at different heights, creating a visual rhythm that runs from the Bitexco tower across to the large residential buildings on the right.

I made roughly 1,000 photographs while I was up there. The difficult part came afterward, going through them carefully and looking for the frames where the fireworks occupied the right areas of the sky without overwhelming the architecture beneath them. I wanted the city and the fireworks to work together, with neither becoming simply a background for the other.

For me, this photograph suits a collector drawn to large urban views, nighttime architecture, black-and-white photography, or contemporary images of Vietnam. Its wide horizontal composition also gives it a strong presence in offices, living spaces, and modern interiors where a detailed city photograph can be viewed from both across the room and at close range.

This photograph is offered as a limited edition of only 10 prints. Each print is personally signed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, produced with archival pigment inks on premium archival paper. For collectors interested in similarly expansive views of cities after dark, this photograph also belongs naturally within my cityscape wall art photography.

© Dan Kosmayer, 2026

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0552/9685/2047/files/saigon-skyline-fireworks-black-and-white-2.jpg?v=1788805824
saigon-sunset-skyline-through-atmospheric-haze
Saigon Sunset Skyline Through Atmospheric Haze | Limited Edition of 10

Soft Orange Light Over A Layered Urban Horizon

From high above central Saigon, I watched the city flatten into layer after layer of rooftops and towers as the sun dropped toward the horizon. The heavy atmospheric haze that evening did something I could never create afterward in software: it softened the far skyline, muted the city into green-gray tones, and let the setting sun burn through as a small orange disc beneath streaked clouds.

What holds my attention is the scale. Apartment blocks, office towers, smaller buildings, rooftop structures, signs, and scattered city lights fill almost the entire lower frame, yet the eye still travels immediately to that single sun. The warm orange sky and the cooler haze divide the photograph into broad horizontal layers, while the dense architecture below gives the image its texture. For collectors who are drawn to elevated urban views, my urban cityscape wall art follows this same fascination with how cities change when distance, atmosphere, and light begin to simplify them.

The haze was part of Saigon as I experienced it from that high viewpoint, and it created the glow that makes this photograph different from a clean, sharply separated skyline. Buildings in the foreground hold more definition, while the distant city gradually dissolves into the atmosphere. Small reflections of warm light appear on rooftops and windows, tying the immense city below back to the sunset above.

As wall art, I see this photograph working especially well in contemporary, minimalist, or architectural interiors where the muted green-gray city and warm orange sky can carry a large space without becoming overly bright. It may also have a particular pull for collectors connected to Vietnam, travelers who know Saigon, or anyone drawn to dense urban photography and atmospheric city skylines.

I offer this photograph as a limited edition of only 10 prints. Each print is personally signed, includes a certificate of authenticity, and is produced with archival pigment inks on premium archival paper so the subtle tonal transitions, haze, and warm sunset color remain central to the finished print.
