From this elevated position, the architecture becomes almost abstract. This photograph is about shape, repetition, reflection and light. The strong horizontal bands of the central structure create a visual rhythm, while the glass floor and surrounding framework reveal people and interior spaces far beneath the viewpoint.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSmall points of light break through the darker areas, producing sharp star-like highlights against the steel and glass. Around them, reflections overlap with structural lines until it becomes difficult to tell where one surface ends and another begins.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhat I like most is that the photograph does not immediately explain itself. The Reichstag is one of Berlin's most recognizable buildings, yet from inside the dome the familiar landmark becomes a study in contemporary architectural design.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor me, that is what made the scene worth photographing. Its branches spread almost horizontally before dividing into fine clusters of leaves, creating an open shelter over the edge of the road. The light on the trunk gives it a strong line through the centre of the frame.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eLooking longer reveals the smaller details below. Simple roadside stalls sit close to the tree, and the road bends past them towards the left. Beyond, planted slopes and darker wooded areas lead into a series of distant ridges.
